We are Les and Annie Sedlacek,
owners of Rock Bottom Ranch Nursery
Raised in Oregon's Willamette Valley, we watched horticultural products become Oregon's #1 farm commodity. When we moved to the Klamath Basin in 2000, we were surprised to learn that there were no growers of landscape trees and perennials in the Klamath Basin. Retailers were importing plants from the Willamette Valley of NW Oregon where the climate, elevation, and pH of the soil and water is vastly different than in SE Oregon.
We recognized a need and an opportunity to raise something on our ranch besides cattle, alfalfa hay or spuds. We disregarded those who said a nursery would "never work in the Klamath Basin." We planted our first trees in 2002 and the nursery has grown from there.
